This project is what I submitted for Penguin’s Cover Design Awards competition 2024, redesigning the cover of the amazing book Atomic Habits by James Clear. An added aspect to this project was creating a new marketing idea, where I chose to partner the book with the mindfulness app Headspace. This partnership includes a limited edition self check-in bookmark and in-store meditation takeovers.

For my final major project of my degree I came up with a brief focussing on ocean health and more specifically seagrass regeneration in the UK. With current plans for a seaweed farm off the coast of polzeath presenting potential threats to their local wildlife, surfing and tourism. I decided to use this location for my Turf’s Up volunteer-led organisation sponsored by local brands and working with the community to bring seagrass numbers back up along the coast. Turf’s up could be a project used all over the UK.

This project was my submission to the D&AD New Blood 2024 competition. The brief was set by Unilever and asked for a PR-able moment to promote their new ‘Play On’ message using sports, following recent Dirt Is Good campaigns. The chosen Unilever branch is UK’s Persil, and the target audience is young adults. Post-pandemic there was a huge spike in outdoor activities, which is my campaign idea’s focus: inspiring young adults to build resilience and get back outdoors with Persil as their trail buddy, collaborating with relevant brands to promote this message.

Food Forest is a design solution to a Royal Society of Art's competition brief called 'Made Natural'. It requires a nature based solution using trees to improve an environmental issue whilst also involving a community and thinking of long term sustainability. Food Forest is a roadside orchard network for urban areas, specifically low income-deprivation areas. Led by the local community, volunteers pick, pack and deliver regular boxes of fruit to local households to help cut food costs and promote organic healthy eating. Workshops and recipes get people involved and bring them together.

This design brief is called 'Reignite an old flame'. It requires a redesign of an old product, changing the packaging and making it relevant today. I chose Cosmopolitan's yogurt, which came out in 1999 and only lasted a year. In its new form, Cosmopolitan Yogurt is a women's probiotic promoting female gut and reproductive health. The design of the snack pouch is to look like a mini magazine and it has a QR code on the back to take you to the magazine's website for the latest news and gossip. The last image was my initial packaging design before further development into the mini covers.

Crystal Palace is a font I designed in second year of university inspired by the famous Crystal Palace building. It uses negative space to reflect the fact that only the foundations of the building still stand while the rest is ghostly, only remembered through stories and archives.

Fact was a collaborative newspaper I made in my second year. Small groups pitched a visual identity for the newspaper and our design concept was chosen. As a year group we developed the visual identity of the newspaper and created articles inside, building on our printing and teamwork skills.

Volunteer work for my local GP surgery and the NHS charity called Patient Champions in Tunbridge Wells. I designed posters and flyers to advertise group walks for patients who need a chat and to get outside in nature. This was at the end of the pandemic and was much needed after the negative effects of the isolation that many people went through.

This project was work experience I did rebranding the Kent construction company All in One Home Services. This rebrand involved a new logo, T-shirt designs, art for their truck, business cards and leaflets. I worked closely with the Directors of the company.
